Wedding Shower Part 1

A couple of weeks ago, my sister threw a wedding shower for her friend Nichole and she asked me to make the food.

I made Chicken Salad and Egg Salad (I'll share those recipes in the next blog post!)

I also made Spiced Summer Fruit Salad

I've featured this recipe on the blog in the past. You can find that recipe here

I also made No Bake Cafeteria Peanut Butter Bars (Please ignore the soap in the background of this picture. Taking food pictures is clearly not something I excel at.)

This dessert is so easy to make. It takes less than 5 minutes and is made using the microwave. I found the recipe on Southern Plate. And it can easily be altered to be dairy free. I've made this using dairy-free margarine and it still tasted amazing!

And I made Broccoli Salad.

I adapted this recipe from one I found on Just Another Edmonton Mommy. I have the taste buds of a toddler so I always alter recipes that contain vinegar. Here's my version:

Broccoli Salad

5 cups broccoli
1 bag broccoli slaw
8 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
1/2 red onion, diced
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Dressing:
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp vinegar

1. Mix together mayonnaise, sugar and vinegar and set aside.
2. Mix together all remaining ingredients in a large bowl. Pour the dressing over the top of the salad and stir.
3. Let sit in the fridge for at least 20 minutes before stirring to allow the flavors to blend.
